Watford Detatched House Renovation of a New Build House

Project Scope:

This project involved the complete redesign of a new-build property that was originally ill-suited to its expansive, wraparound plot. The primary brief was to expand the footprint for a growing family while establishing a profound physical and visual connection to the gardens that encompass the site. The transformation included a substantial two-storey front extension, featuring a redesigned entrance that provides a grander sense of arrival more typical of a high-end terrace. To resolve the issue of the original “blank” elevations, a single-storey wrap-around extension was constructed around the perimeter of the building; by replacing solid walls with expansive black aluminum frames, the design successfully “brings the outdoors in,” turning the once-isolated house into a light-filled pavilion that celebrates its landscaped surroundings from every angle.
