Mill Hill Ground Floor Wrap Around Extension and House Remodel
Project Scope: To unlock the full potential of a disjointed family home. The Challenge: The original dwelling suffered from a fragmented layout, characterized by side-access entry, redundant corridors, and dual staircases that split the floor plan. Inconsistent ceiling heights and impractical room proportions made the living spaces feel disconnected and inefficient. The Solution: Through a cost-conscious and strategic redesign, we removed a failing rear extension and replaced it with a high-performance double-story addition. By centering the entrance, we established a formal hallway that serves as the home’s primary artery. The kitchen was relocated to the new extension to capture sweeping views of the tiered garden, while new structural openings now seamlessly link every ground-floor room to a newly landscaped patio.
